Michel Gondry's First Tigers
Graphite, ink and digital painting, 30.5 cm × 22.9 cm (12″ × 9″), 2013
Editorial illustration for an article about film director Michel Gondry's lecture and screening of his latest feature Is The Man Who Is Tall Happy? at the Rhode Island School of Design, in the school's magazine RISD XYZ. This piece illustrates a conversation between Gondry and Noam Chomsky, in which the former attempts to express a modern phenomenon: that he first encountered tigers in images, prior to seeing one in the flesh (or fur).
